Guesthouse/Agricultural/Micro-Husbandry Project

With the help and guidance of Relief Team One, the Missionaries of Christ King have started a guest house and agriculture project. Their goal is to be self sufficient and help support other convents of their order.

The earthquake on January 12, 2010 damaged the convent so badly that engineers had tocondemn the building. The sisters were forced to live in tents and in their storage shed. RT1 reinforced the walls, columns, and the galleries of the convent a, repainted the interior of the convent, and built a chicken coop and a barnyard for goats.  This allows the production of eggs, chickens, and milk for the convent and the people living in poverty in the area. Sister Benoite Leblanc has gradually upgraded some rooms that are now available for paying guests in a safe and lovely environment.

Hopital Cardinal Leger Project

The administrators lost their home during the earthquake in January 2010 and the model hospital was condemned. RT 1 was called to redo the roof of the new building housing the administrative staff of the hospital. The existing structure had a roof design that allowed rain to pour into the chapel, several bedrooms, the kitchen and dining room. RT 1 brought a team of 8 of our best trained men and Ray to redesign the roof. In 6 days, we were able to put a new roof in. We are happy to hear that we got there just as the rainy season was beginning to do its damage.
